Fruit & cheese kabobs | DIY healthy 4th of July snack

I just love fruit, and I love string cheese.  Looking in the fridge this morning at the fruit and then the cheese, I came up with a last minute fun  & healthy snack idea for the 4th of July and thought I would share it with all of you!

4th of July Kabobs

Project Supplies: Raspberries, blueberries, string cheese (or you can replace the string cheese with mini marshmallows if you desire)

Project Tools: Skewers, knife, plate.

Instructions:

1.) Cut skewers in 1/2 to make them kid-sized.  I used a kitchen scissors.

2.) Cut string cheese into small, bite-sized pieces.

3.) Place your fruit and cheese in red, white & blue order .

4.) Enjoy!  Please have children use caution when eating off of the skewers and always keep a close eye on them so no one gets hurt!

Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone!!!

Revolutionary strawberries | DIY 4th of July treat

Todays blog is a yummy one!  My son and I created a great snack that is perfect for the 4th of July, especially a hot one-like today!

4th of July Strawberries

Project Supplies: Strawberries, white chocolate chips, blue sprinkles/sugar

Project Tools: Bowl, Spoon, Wax Paper, your kids 🙂
Steps:

1.) Lay out your supplies and get everything all set for creating an awesome snack!  Place blue sprinkles in a bowl, lay out wax paper, and dry off your strawberries if they are a bit wet.

2.) Pour white chocolate (chips) into a bowl and melt in the microwave for two minutes, check often and stir often and keep a very close eye on the chocolate so it doesn’t burn! Microwave for 30 second intervals as needed, and continue stirring, until the chocolate is completely melted.

3.) Grab your kids and get dipping!  Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, covering about 1/2 of the strawberry, then dip into the blue sugar-covering about 1/2 of the white chocolate.  No need for perfection- no matter how they look-they still taste absolutely amazing, so let your kids help and have fun with it!

4.) Place dipped strawberries on wax paper until completely dry and cool.

5.) Pretty much the best part! EAT and ENJOY!

A quick and tasty treat you can create in no time!

Have a happy 4th!
